Tony Abou-Ganim is widely regarded as one of the world's leading bar professionals and is known throughout the industry as "The Modern Mixologist." Through his consulting company, he develops beverage programs, bar concepts, and staff training for major hospitality groups and high-profile venues across the country. His recent collaborations include work with Levy Restaurants at premier sports venues, as well as serving as a beverage consultant for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, where he helps design innovative cocktail programs for their newest ships.

Renowned for his pioneering influence on modern cocktail culture, Tony has appeared on national television programs including TODAY, Good Morning America, and Iron Chef America. He is a three-time Iron Chef America champion, showcasing his expertise in pairing cocktails with the culinary creations of Iron Chef Mario Batali, Iron Chef Jose Garces, and challenger Chef Shawn McClain.

Tony is the author of two acclaimed books, The Modern Mixologist: Contemporary Classic Cocktails (2010) and Vodka Distilled (2013)—both considered essential reading for professionals and enthusiasts seeking a deeper understanding of spirits, ingredients, and technique. He also hosted the Fine Living Network series Raising the Bar: America's Best Bar Chefs.

His journey began in Michigan at the historic Brass Rail Bar, where he learned the foundations of hospitality and classic cocktails under the guidance of his cousin and mentor, Helen David. The Brass Rail, a family business since 1937, was recently returned to the family when Tony purchased the bar, allowing him to continue its legacy while splitting his time between Las Vegas and Michigan.

Tony's career includes developing cocktail programs for some of the most notable venues in the country. In 1998, he was selected by Steve Wynn to create the groundbreaking cocktail program for Bellagio Las Vegas, influencing the beverage philosophy across the resort's 22 bars. Over the years, he has collaborated with venues including Caesars Palace, Oracle Arena, T-Mobile Arena (home of the Vegas Golden Knights), Allegiant Stadium (home of the Las Vegas Raiders), and Mandalay Bay's Libertine Social, where he was formerly a partner. His work also includes programs for Highlands Steakhouse, Hearth 71, and High Bar in Detroit's Renaissance Center.

As a National Ambassador of the United States Bartenders' Guild, Tony remains committed to education and professional development within the hospitality industry. His consulting work spans bar staff training, product education, menu development, and cocktail program design for clients around the world. He is also a co-founder and judge of the TAG Global Spirits Awards, launched in 2022.

Tony is frequently invited to present at leading culinary and beverage events, including the Aspen Food & Wine Classic, Hawaii Food & Wine Festival, Cayman Cookout, and the Nassau Food & Wine Festival in the Bahamas.

Extending his influence beyond the bar, Tony created the Modern Mixologist bar tool collection, a line of professional tools inspired by decades of hands-on experience. In honor of Helen David, he also co-founded the Helen David Relief Fund with the USBG Foundation, supporting hospitality professionals battling breast cancer and other cancers.
