Joe Phillips, MS, Sommelier

Joe Phillips is Director of Product Education for Southern Glazer's Beverage Company of Nevada and has been with the company for eleven years. Joe, along with the other members of the Nevada education team, executes a comprehensive alcohol training program for SG team members and its customers.

Prior to joining Southern Glazer's, Joe was part of the opening team for the Bellagio Resort in Las Vegas, managing award-winning wine programs for Aqua, Sensi, and Michael Mina. He became a Master Sommelier during his career there. Joe left Bellagio to become the Director of Wine for the MGM Grand Resort in Las Vegas before taking his current position as a product educator for SGBC. He is an active examiner and educator for the Court of Master Sommeliers and a Certified Educator through the Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET). He was voted Best Sommelier of Las Vegas in 2012 by Las Vegas Weekly Magazine and makes frequent guest appearances at many venues in Las Vegas, Reno, Lake Tahoe and UNLV's William F. Harrah College of Hospitality.
