Jason Smith, MS, Sommelier
Jason Smith's journey into the world of wine began at the Culinary Institute of America, where a required wine course ignited his passion and shifted his career focus. Graduating with honors, Jason went on to earn the prestigious Master Sommelier title in 2005 and was one of only 75 in North America at the time.
His expertise quickly led him to leadership roles at acclaimed destinations such as The Little Nell in Aspen and Charlie Trotter's in Chicago. At Charlie Trotter's, Jason contributed wine notes to two of the chef's cookbooks: "Raw" and "Workin' More Kitchen Sessions with Charlie Trotter."
Jason continued to rise in the hospitality industry, joining Bellagio Resort as a sommelier at Michael Mina and later becoming Director of Wine at the property. In this role, he managed all aspects of wine operations and education for the renowned resort. His success led him to MGM Resorts International, where as Executive Director of Wine he oversaw wine programs for 20 resorts nationwide.
With over two decades of experience, Jason now serves as Vice President of Global Strategy & Hospitality at Constellation Brands, Wine & Spirits Division. He leads business, sales, and marketing strategies for esteemed wineries including Schrader Cellars, Double Diamond, and Sea Smoke.
