Jonathan Adler, Mixologist

Jonathan Adler brings a wealth of knowledge from his 20+ years in the hospitality industry to his role of Managing Partner of Chiqui. His journey began working in restaurants while he was in high school; he then attended the Institute of Culinary Education and received his degree in Culinary Arts and Culinary Management in 2009.

From New York to San Francisco, Jonathan has held roles in prestigious kitchens such as Gramercy Tavern, The Dutch and Contra, was Sous Chef at then Michelin-starred Breslin, then Chef De Partie at Saison when the restaurant achieved 3 Michelin stars as well as the World's 50 Best One To Watch Award. In 2016, he opened his own restaurant, Sevenstrong, near where he grew up in western Massachusetts and stepped into the role of chef/partner. Jonathan oversaw the restaurant's vision to champion local farms, using only ingredients native to New England and focusing on whole animal butchery; he also oversaw the development of the wine and cocktail program.

From there, Jonathan joined the team at Singlethread Farms in Healdsburg, California as Chef De Partie before quickly joining the beverage team after earning his credentials as a Certified Sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers. He also ran the non-alcoholic beverage program for the restaurant, doing pairings alongside the 11 course tasting menu. During his tenure there, the restaurant achieved first 2, then 3 Michelin stars and was named the one to watch and a top 100 restaurant in the World's 50 Best Restaurants.

In February of 2021, Jonathan joined the team at noda as a Sommelier, eventually progressing to a more all-encompassing role as Beverage Director. During this time, he developed a cocktail program for what would eventually become Shinji's. In 2022, having served the drinks that would end up at Shinji's, noda won the Michelin Guide New York Exceptional Cocktails Award under Jonathan's guidance. Shinji's also won the Vinepair 2024 Best Cocktail Program award and #77 North America's 50 Best Bars 2026.

Jonathan is beyond excited to bring the new concept of Chiqui to New York City in 2026.
