Kimmie Mcintosh, Chef

Kimmie Mcintosh is the chef and co-owner of MILKFISH Bakeshop, a Filipino-inspired pop-up bakery in Las Vegas. She creates her bakes as a way of staying connected to her heritage, and loves to share what she learns about her culture, through her food.

She spent most her cooking career in Santa Barbara, where she graduated from culinary school, before transitioning to the front-of-house. She started as a hostess and eventually began managing restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she got her degree in hospitality management. At the end of 2013, she and her future husband, Josh, left the Bay and moved to his hometown of Las Vegas.

When the pandemic hit, Kimmie took a step back from working in restaurants. Also during this time, she hosted her first virtual bake sale with Bakers Against Racism, a baking collective which raises money for nonprofit organizations that address racial and social injustice. She grew passionate about the community impact these bake sales had, and began hosting them often.

She still hosts these bake sales, which have since evolved into collaborative efforts with other Vegas bakers. Net proceeds are donated to local nonprofits such as Three Square, Safe Nest, The Center, and Families for Effective Autism Treatment (FEAT). To date, MILKFISH Bakeshop has raised over $25,000 for nonprofits. She also loves working with the Women's Hospitality Initiative, which supports and uplifts the future generation of female hospitality leaders.

In 2024, Kimmie and Josh were nominated as James Beard Award Semifinalists for Outstanding Pastry Chef and Baker. In 2026, Kimmie received the semifinalist nomination for the second time, something she considers a tremendous honor.

When she is not baking, Kimmie loves to work out and spend time with her family, especially her 9-year old daughter, Leia and 6-year old son, Cooper.
